Veteran performer Sir Rod Stewart has had to call off the rest of his 2026 American tour following a heart operation.
The music legend, who is 81 years old, disclosed that he requires approximately a month away from professional commitments while recuperating from a procedure involving coronary stents.
Medical guidance has resulted in the cancellation of every outstanding appearance across America and Mexico, with events originally planned to continue until September.
The celebrated entertainer had been scheduled to appear in multiple locations throughout Ohio, Illinois, and Mexico, alongside a six-evening engagement at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
His representatives reported that Stewart is recovering positively and has resumed his regular everyday routine.
According to a communication from his representatives, medical professionals have recommended he spend the coming month resting and building up his strength before resuming performances. This medical guidance means he cannot proceed with the current round of scheduled shows. Details about affected concerts will be shared by individual promoters and venues.
Two further concerts remain planned for Colorado in September 2027.
This development comes after shows in Cincinnati and Cleveland were already delayed because of health issues. Cleveland’s Rocket Arena officially announced the cancellation through social media platforms, explaining that medical professionals had instructed Stewart to rest for a minimum of two days. The venue noted that Stewart regretted missing the performance and was grateful for audience patience.
This marks not the first occasion where Stewart has needed to modify his touring plans due to health matters. Earlier in the year, he expressed regret to admirers after scrapping Nevada appearances because of a sinus condition that required him to rest his voice. The subsequent month saw another San Diego concert cancelled following a respiratory infection that caused laryngitis.
Earlier this month, Sir Rod and his family marked the birth of his sixth grandchild, a son named Levi, welcomed by his daughter Ruby.
