EastEnders is welcoming a new character to Albert Square for a short stint, the BBC has confirmed.
Jason Durr, known for his roles in Casualty and Heartbeat, will appear for a guest stint as Clive Masters, who is a new character on the soap.
Clive is a local councillor who arrives in Walford as the residents rally together to save the Community Centre as it risks being redeveloped.
Linda is in charge and befriends Clive after he shows his support, quickly realising there could be more to their new friendship.

Jason Durr ‘delighted’ to join EastEnders cast
Jason told the BBC: “Few shows command their place in the national conversation quite like EastEnders, so I’m delighted to be joining the cast as Clive Masters.
“Working with the wonderful Kellie Bright has been an absolute joy and pleasure from day one.
“All the cast, crew and production staff have been incredibly generous, welcoming and good-humoured.
“I’m excited for audiences to meet Clive and see what’s in store.”

Announcing the news on Instagram, the official EastEnders account shared a photo of Jason and fans reacted in the comment section.
One said: “Amazing! I can’t wait to see Jason in EastEnders. 🙌👏”.

Serial killer character returns to EastEnders
The news comes just a few days after serial killer Gray Atkins, played by Toby-Alexander Smith, returned to the soap.
Gray was jailed in 2022 for his crimes, including the murders of Chantelle Atkins, Kush Kazemi and Tina Carter.
He has returned to the show while still serving a life sentence, but will only be around for a short stint.
