The broadcaster has unveiled a longer preview and promotional images marking four decades of the award-winning series Casualty.

Viewers can now anticipate a significant milestone episode from the beloved programme next month.

The expanded preview launched on August 12 offers admirers a glimpse of what lies ahead for the two-part celebration.

What lies in store for Casualty’s 40th anniversary episodes

The preview depicts mounting alarm as the fictional St James’ Hospital becomes the location of a significant blast that creates mayhem across the fictional town of Holby.

The clip continues showing ambulance workers combing through the damaged hospital structure while staff at Holby City Hospital strive to coordinate the extensive emergency response effort.

In the preview, an emotional Dylan, portrayed by William Beck, reportedly confronts devastating personal circumstances in the two-parter while simultaneously directing his colleagues through the crisis.

Audiences have begun sharing their responses to the preview and are eager for the special instalment.

Stevie, portrayed by Elinor Lawless, and Flynn, portrayed by Olly Rix, also face urgent situations in the forthcoming special in a dramatic and moving storyline.
