BBC One has unveiled the first batch of famous faces set to compete in the upcoming 21st series of Celebrity MasterChef, due to air later this year.
Among those taking their place in the flagship culinary contest are television presenters, a sporting champion, and performers from various entertainment fields.
The initial five participants featured in the opening episode are as follows:
Jay McGuinness
Former boyband member and Strictly Come Dancing champion Jay McGuinness will be the opening contestant in week one.
The Wanted alumnus is looking to emulate the achievements of bandmates Tom and Max by securing a spot on the programme.
He identifies as a vegetarian with a passion for flavourful dishes, although he acknowledges his plating skills may fall short of MasterChef expectations.
Joe Pasquale
Series four winner of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and comedian Joe Pasquale appears next in the roster.
The entertainer aims to develop greater assurance in cooking through taking part.
Shakira Khan
Love Island alumnus Shakira Khan will also be competing, describing herself as an unpretentious cook who is keen to acquire new skills and push beyond her boundaries.
At 23 years old, she aspires to perfect additional recipes and eventually become the primary cook for her household.
Jason Mohammad
Broadcaster Jason Mohammad, who works across television and radio, enters as someone who describes himself as a festive cook and prepares evening meals for his loved ones most days.
He holds fond recollections of harvesting produce in his grandfather’s vegetable patch in Wales.
Emily Campbell
Rounding out the selection is Olympic weightlifter Emily Campbell.
She considers herself capable in the kitchen and is enthusiastic about broadening her gastronomic abilities.
