Second Spin vinyl shop opens in Archway supporting National Children’s Air Ambulance

Published on

A music retail venture has emerged as a distinctive fundraising outlet for children’s air ambulance services in the capital.

The establishment, named Second Spin, commenced operations at premises on Junction Road in the Archway district on Monday, 12 October.

The venue offers customers the opportunity to browse collections of second-hand records, previously owned musical instruments, and music-related collectables.

What distinguishes this particular shop from conventional retailers is its charitable purpose.

All revenue generated from the diverse range of merchandise available is directed toward supporting the National Children’s Air Ambulance, an organisation providing helicopter emergency transport for seriously ill infants and children throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.

The Archway location had previously functioned as a standard charity shop operated by the NCAA for almost ten years before its transformation into this innovative concept store.

The renovation included a redesigned storefront and interior, alongside equipment enabling customers to listen to recordings before purchasing.

Store manager Mathias Linzatti Oinas reported that musicians have contributed items from their personal collections to be sold at the venue.

According to Linzatti Oinas, the response from the local community since the opening has been overwhelmingly positive.

Customers have successfully uncovered rare additions for their collections, while numerous local musicians have made donations ranging from single records to substantial portions of their memorabilia collections.

The organisation depends wholly on voluntary contributions and proceeds from its charity shop network to maintain helicopter operations.

Linzatti Oinas emphasised that each transaction assists in sustaining the emergency aircraft fleet.

The boutique represents a fresh initiative for the National Children’s Air Ambulance.

The location was selected for its prominence within the area.

Second Spin’s address is 31 Junction Road, Archway, London, N19 5QT.
