Pierre Counihan-Moullier, who portrays Oscar Branning in the BBC soap opera, is expected to depart from EastEnders in 2027.
The 26-year-old performer became one of the programme’s most popular cast members following his arrival in 2025.
His exit represents the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the long-running drama.
Counihan-Moullier transitioned to EastEnders after working on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, joining when Ben Wadey assumed leadership of the series.
Reports indicate that although the actor is leaving, producers intend to keep the character available for future storylines.
The BBC has declined to provide comment on the matter.
The departures follow announcements from several other cast members.
Kellie Bright, who has portrayed Linda Carter for 13 years, confirmed her own exit from the programme.
Previous departures included Aaron Thiara, who played Ravi Gulati, and Michelle Ryan in the role of Zoe Slater.
Lee and Nancy Carter will make their return to Albert Square as part of a storyline that will conclude their mother’s tenure in the series.
Danny-Boy Hatchard and Maddy Hill will reprise their respective roles in the autumn broadcast.
Linda Carter is the matriarch of the Carter family, married to Mick, portrayed by Danny Dyer, with whom she has four children.
The show’s executive producer indicated that the upcoming narrative would feature the siblings’ return in a plot that promises to deliver a dramatic twist.
