A senior British cyber security expert travelled to Northwick Park to engage with its information protection workforce.
Phil Huggins, who holds the position of national chief information security officer for Health and Social Care within the Department of Health and Social Care, inspected the site and held discussions with Nasser Arif, the cyber security manager.
Mr Arif stated that he had previously crossed paths with Phil at various industry gatherings but welcomed his suggestion to visit the location in person. He devoted the morning to understanding several of the programmes Mr Arif has been establishing alongside his forthcoming cyber security approach.
Mr Huggins brings experience in developing and overseeing security frameworks for critical national infrastructure along with advising national regulatory bodies, drawing on approximately twenty-five years working in this sector.
Mr Arif observed that Mr Huggins freely offered individual guidance sessions, providing practical and useful recommendations drawing on his extensive professional background spanning more than twenty-five years.
He added that gaining insight into the work progressing at the national level proved particularly educational.
