BP’s Wild Bean Café is discontinuing its coffee rewards programme, leaving patrons with only a short window to make their final claims.
The chain, which operates as BP’s own coffee shop concept and can typically be found at motorway service station fuel forecourts alongside BP Connect or M&S Simply Food outlets, has run a loyalty card scheme offering customers the chance to receive a complimentary hot beverage after purchasing seven drinks. The scheme rewarded customers with a stamp for all large and regular hot and iced beverages, with seven stamps enabling redemption for a free large hot or iced drink.
Notices have been observed by Newsquest inside BP’s Wild Bean Café locations stating that the promotion will cease on March 31, 2026. From April 1, new loyalty cards will no longer be distributed and no additional stamps will be added to existing cards. Customers who have already collected all seven stamps on a card may exchange it for a free drink until May 1, 2026, after which completed cards will become invalid.
Wild Bean Café launched over two decades ago and now operates more than 320 outlets throughout the UK, with some operating around the clock. BP has been approached for a statement by Newsquest.
The alterations to BP’s coffee rewards programme follow other recent modifications to British loyalty schemes. Millions of Boots Advantage Card members will be impacted by new arrangements due to commence in May 2026. The retailer announced in correspondence to customers that the existing ten per cent discount on Boots own-brand merchandise for Advantage Card holders will be discontinued and replaced with an alternative saving mechanism. While shoppers may still benefit financially, the approach will differ from the previous straightforward discount. The company has confirmed that standard point collection will persist, with members continuing to earn three points per pound spent.
Sainsbury’s has also introduced a fresh option for Nectar members to utilise their points. The retailer has established a collaboration with Uber, enabling members to spend their Nectar points through Uber Eats. Customers can select to redeem between 500 and 4,000 points via the Nectar application, which translates to between £2.50 and £20. This amount can be applied towards transportation such as a journey home or train fare for a day trip, as well as a takeaway meal at the weekend.
