Hospital worker Idris named Porter of the Year

Harrow Chronicle: North West University Healthcare, hospital worker Idris Mohammed, has won the MyPorter 2026 Award.

A north west London hospital worker who is "reliable, compassionate, and unwavering under pressure" has won an award. Idris Mohammed, a porter at London North West University Healthcare, has been named Porter of the Year in the 2026 MyPorter Awards. He has progressed from needing guidance to becoming a mentor for new starters and a source of support for others in the team. A statement from the trust said: "Through dedication and consistent support, Idris developed his skills, built his confidence, and now plays a vital role in the smooth running of hospital services. Idris represents the very best of inclusive employment within the NHS: talent recognised, potential nurtured, and barriers replaced with opportunity." London North West University Healthcare said Mohammed’s story is "not defined by challenges, but by capability, contribution, and quiet excellence."
