London’s newest half marathon route has been confirmed – showcasing the best of Shoreditch, Hoxton and Stoke Newington.
The Saucony Run Shoreditch, set to welcome more than 10,000 runners, follows a route taking participants through some of the capital’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
Taking place on September 20, the 13.1-mile course weaves through Hoxton, Clissold Park, Stoke Newington Church Street, Newington Green and De Beauvoir, starting and finishing next to Shoreditch Park.
Each neighbourhood along the route is expected to bring its own atmosphere, with supporters and crowds cheering runners through some of London’s most lively and diverse streets. The event village will be hosted in Shoreditch Park and will include food vendors, music and other entertainment.

Emily Whitaker, event director, said: “We wanted to create a route that feels fast and welcoming.
“The course takes runners through some of the area’s most iconic neighbourhoods, all while keeping elevation low, perfect for anyone chasing a new PB or stepping up to the half marathon distance for the first time. We can’t wait to see Shoreditch come alive on race day.”
The course is “relatively flat”, with total elevation almost identical to the Hackney Half, which is also organised by Motiv Sports UK. Other key roads featured in the debut route will include Essex Road, St. Pauls Road, Queen’s Drive and Albion Road.
Newington Green is being highlighted as a prime viewing location, offering spectators the chance to see runners pass by three times. The event is expected to provide a significant boost to the surrounding areas with thousands of participants and supporters visiting cafés, shops and public spaces throughout the day.
Motiv Sports UK is working closely with community groups and run clubs to ensure the half marathon delivers a positive and lasting impact on the neighbouring communities.
Previous editions of the event have been held as a 10k, making this the first year runners will take on the half marathon distance. Anyone interested in taking part in the debut Saucony Run Shoreditch Half Marathon can still enter via www.runshoreditch.com.
