Harrow’s historic buildings see new planning applications

Published on

Multiple heritage structures and historic premises across the London Borough of Harrow face redevelopment under a batch of planning submissions currently under consideration.

The Change of Hart establishment situated on Edgware’s High Street would see comprehensive modifications implemented throughout all levels and the rooftop section.

Works encompass structural fabric restoration, roof replacement, interior restructuring and the addition of private bathroom facilities within accommodation rooms.

The venue would continue operating as a licensed premises while providing supplementary lodging.

Listed building approval is also being sought for Stanmore Hall.

The application proposes subdividing a penthouse unit on the uppermost level into a pair of two-bedroom residences.

Modifications to the exterior involve reconfiguring two dormer window openings to serve as access points to a roof terrace and mounting a pair of air source heat pump units.

An enforcement regularisation submission addresses unapproved construction at 36-38 High Street in Pinner.

The unauthorised works comprise modifications to the internal courtyard space, landscaping of the rear garden area, signage on the principal facade and adjustments to kitchen and servery configurations internally.

Consent is requested at Tudor Cottage on Moss Lane in Pinner to formally retain the elimination of a collapsed entrance archway that formed part of the building’s curtilage, without reconstructing it.

At 45 East Towers in Pinner, plans involve constructing a single-storey projection at the front containing a covered entrance way, alongside a single-storey extension extending from the side to the rear.

The scheme incorporates roof lights facing forward and photovoltaic panels on the roof surface.

Alterations proposed for 2 Old Forge Close in Stanmore comprise a single-storey front section containing a covered entrance, an extension on the first floor at the front elevation, and transformation of an existing garage into a living space.

A separate listed building consent application specifically targets The Change of Hart Public House at 21 High Street in Edgware, seeking approval for comprehensive alterations to the interior and exterior across ground, first, second floors and the roof level, to facilitate the continued use of the premises as a public house with associated accommodation.

Additionally, The White House on Lowlands Road in Harrow would undergo conversion from its current educational function to serve as a community health facility, accommodating general practitioner practices and essential primary care services.
