More than a third of pupils secured the highest A-level results in what the college described as one of its most successful periods since opening nearly five decades ago.
St Dominic’s Sixth Form College revealed that 38 percent of its cohort obtained grades ranging from A* to A, while 70 percent accomplished grades between A* and B.
Performance in BTEC qualifications also proved impressive, with 82 percent of learners awarded merits or above.
Andrew Parkin, the college principal, remarked that A-levels continue to represent the premier post-16 credential worldwide. He noted they demand rigorous academic effort and complete dedication from those undertaking them.
He expressed tremendous pride in the accomplishments of the institution’s young people, stating they had shown exceptional commitment throughout their studies. Mr Parkin described the student body as focused individuals who embraced the college’s dedication to academic excellence.
He acknowledged these outcomes ranked among the finest in the establishment’s 47-year existence.
Mr Parkin also commended the teaching staff for their unwavering support of learners during their educational journey, noting their efforts had equipped students to reach their full potential and transition successfully to higher education or employment.
