Upper-school pupils are marking impressive results following an outstanding collection of A-level and BTEC outcomes.
Harrow High School announced that 62 per cent of its A-level entries achieved grades between A* and B, with 90 per cent securing grades from A* to C.
For those taking BTEC qualifications, 90 per cent of entries resulted in Distinction* or Distinction grades, placing the institution among the highest-performing one per cent of schools nationwide for BTEC advancement.
Among the standout performers at A-level, Mohamed Al-Koud secured triple-A grades in mathematics, economics and physics; Hamas Ubaid earned three As in economics, mathematics and business; Julian Demitrius achieved AAB in English literature, history and business; and Zahra Nooristani attained AAB in English literature, history and sociology.
In the BTEC programme, Harunika Krishnan recorded DDD* in applied science. A further seven pupils obtained DDD grades across BTEC science and business courses.
Paul Gamble, the headteacher, expressed delight at the accomplishments of the upper-school cohort, noting that the outcomes reflected both the pupils’ dedication and resolve alongside the commitment and expertise of the teaching and support staff. He described the standard of instruction and learning across the sixth form and wider school as something the entire community could celebrate. He also praised the performance of Year 12 AS-level pupils, with three-quarters of entries graded A* to C, suggesting promising results for the following year’s group.
Constantin Preda, head of sixth form, stated that he took great pride in this cohort, whose hard work, determination and intellectual curiosity had been exemplary. He suggested the results represented an appropriate reward for their efforts. He noted that such outcomes positioned the sixth form within the top decile of schools nationally, highlighting both the quality of the students and the excellence of the teaching and support provided.
