Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared details of being attacked with a knife while visiting Madrid on holiday.
The 61-year-old performer and TV star discussed the frightening experience during an episode of the Judgemental podcast, which he presents alongside fellow Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.
The dancer mentioned he had gone on vacation to the Spanish capital and suffered the assault, describing the weather as extremely hot at the time.
He recounted how his accessories were also taken during the incident, with a necklace being torn from around his neck.
The television personality described being cut with a blade and suffering a wound to his stomach after leaving a nightclub in the early hours of the morning. He noted that late-night outings were typical, with dinner often starting around 10 or 11pm.
At the time, he had been combining his trip with performances as a dancer at the Lido in Paris.
The situation became even more unpleasant following his departure from Spain, when French border officials subjected him to an intimate search.
He explained that he had not groomed himself properly due to the circumstances, appearing rather dishevelled after being attacked and sustaining burn injuries around his neck area. The French authorities conducted a thorough search of his belongings, checking for any illegal substances.
The Strictly judge also revealed a separate travel disaster that occurred during a trip to Mombasa in Kenya.
Despite having eagerly anticipated the journey, problems began immediately upon landing.
He explained that despite all accommodation being prepaid and transport arranged from the airport, staff informed him upon arrival that the hotel had been destroyed by fire.
No one had thought to alert visitors about the fire until they had actually reached the destination.
The following day, everyone was forced to travel to the airport and depart with their teams, and while waiting in line, individuals began collapsing one after another.
It later emerged that the entire group had contracted salmonella food poisoning from poultry consumed the previous evening.
