The popular restaurant chain Dishoom is preparing to launch another outlet in Borough later this year, introducing Bombay-style comfort cuisine to south London.
The forthcoming venue will be situated at 24 Southwark Street within the historic Hop Exchange structure, close to London Bridge station.
This launch will see Dishoom enter one of the capital’s most renowned culinary districts, with the neighbouring Borough Market widely recognised as a paradise for food enthusiasts.
According to Dishoom, the location’s established reputation for exceptional dining, fresh produce and welcoming hospitality makes it an ideal setting for the company’s newest establishment.
The restaurant group has confirmed that the new site will maintain its tradition of honouring Mumbai’s cuisine, culture, heritage and distinctive character, while also celebrating the city’s traditional Irani cafés, which once played a central role in daily life for countless residents.
Dishoom has built its reputation on serving Bombay-inspired comfort dishes, inspired by the flavours found across Mumbai’s cafés, street food vendors and home kitchens.
Among its most popular offerings are the signature House Black Daal, the indulgent Chicken Ruby curry and the crispy Okra Fries, while the Bacon Naan Roll has emerged as one of the chain’s most celebrated breakfast items.
Although a precise launch date remains undetermined, the company has indicated its intention to receive its inaugural customers before the end of the year, with additional information expected to emerge as the opening approaches.
A Dishoom representative stated that the company is eager to launch its new café at 24 Southwark Street in Borough later this year.
