Research involving 1,000 participants revealed that following a dreary winter season, just over half are now opting for vivid hues and bold patterns in their attire to experience feelings of happiness, self-assurance and vitality.
The concept centres on selecting garments that spark pleasure, showcase individual character, and stimulate the brain’s natural mood-enhancing chemical.
The study also uncovered that almost two-thirds coordinate their accessories with their clothing, with footwear (40%), outerwear (26%) and electronic gadgets (10%) being popular choices.
The investigation was commissioned by Samsung, which has introduced the Galaxy A57 5G smartphone in an expanded palette of shades.
Annika Bizon, the company’s head of mobile experience, explained that consumers increasingly view their accessories and devices as tools for personal expression. She noted that shoppers demand both affordability and dependable functionality from their electronics, alongside aesthetic appeal. According to her, this latest range satisfies those requirements by merging reliable performance with eye-catching colours.
Approximately 38% reported feeling more assured on days when they embraced this colourful approach to dressing.
The majority acknowledged that clothing choices do reveal aspects of one’s character, with two-thirds expressing they feel most authentic when wearing garments they genuinely appreciate.
Data from OnePoll.com indicated that 45% believed sporting brighter shades would enhance their emotional state.
Interestingly, over half observed that others appear more content when wearing vivid clothing.
Four in ten anticipate seasonal wardrobe updates primarily because these uplifting shades improve their disposition.
Forty-one percent confessed to purchasing an item recently purely for the feel-good factor it provided.
Researchers discovered people were more inclined to adopt this colourful style during vacations (37%), at gatherings (37%) and for evenings out (35%).
For certain individuals, creating an uplifting ensemble extends beyond apparel into electronic devices, with one in eight coordinating their tech accessories to complement each other.
When selecting a mobile phone, 61% favour brightly coloured handsets over the conventional black (41%) or grey (13%) options.
