Young dancers from Harrow are set to bring energy to St Patrick’s Day festivities scheduled for next week during an evening celebrating Irish culture.

Students from the Rochford School of Irish Dance will display their skills at Minori, an Italian eatery in Pinner, as part of an event dedicated to Irish customs and the neighbourhood.

The performers range from children below ten years old to adolescents, presenting traditional dances for guests including Harrow’s mayor Cllr Anjana Patel, restaurant customers, and proud relatives.

Denise Rochford TCRG established the Rochford School of Irish Dance in 2011. The school presently offers lessons at venues in Hatch End and Harrow.

Minori Restaurant is situated at 410 Uxbridge Road in Pinner and has recently drawn notice for its Hero Discount scheme supporting serving and former military personnel.

Andy Fellini, the business owner who began his cooking career at The Savoy Hotel, declared that the Irish community in Hatch End and Pinner is fantastic, and Italians and Irish have long shared a special bond, perhaps because their forebears settled in the same cities such as New York and London during different periods.

They look forward to St Patricks Day every year, and this years Irish Night promises a wonderful evening with genuine Irish music and dancing combined with authentic Italian home-cooked meals. Their venue is open to everyone, and they look forward to welcoming all visitors on March 17.

The programme will additionally feature live shows by Tommy OFlaherty, a renowned Irish vocalist and former proprietor of OFlahertys Bar in Harrow.

Mr OFlaherty said he would be performing a collection of traditional Irish songs including Galway Bay, Danny Boy, and Dirty Old Town, alongside contemporary pieces by musicians such as Mike Denver, The Tumbling Paddies, and Nathan Carter, among others.

Gareth Thomas, the MP for West Harrow, acknowledged the event and Mineris dedication to the local area. Mr Thomas noted that Andy and the Minori team have once more brought together their vibrant and varied communities, with January bringing the Hero Discount recognising their courageous service members, and now through honouring Irish culture.
